Local SEO & rankings
The audit, Google posts, and citation sync that move you up the local map pack — and how to read each one.
Local SEO is how you get found. Aaptly runs the recurring work — auditing, posting, and listing sync — so your visibility compounds instead of going stale. Everything lives under the SEO section, organized into tabs.
| Tab | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Audit | Your Growth Score, the nine audit cards, and the top fixes |
| Market | Keyword rank tracking and competitors — see Keywords & rank tracking |
| Site | Search Console + your website audit — see Connect Search Console |
| Listings | Citation sync across directories |
The audit
The Audit tab is the heart of your local SEO. It shows your Growth Score (0–100 + grade), the top three actions to take now, and nine cards that grade each part of your presence:
| Card | What it grades |
|---|---|
| Reviews | Rating, volume, and response rate |
| Profile completeness | How filled-out your Google profile is |
| Freshness | Days since your last Google post |
| Search performance | Clicks and impressions (from Search Console) |
| Rankings | Keywords in the local-pack top 3 |
| Site health | Website speed and technical SEO |
| Citations | Active directory listings found |
| Competitors | Top nearby competitors and their scores |
Each card is color-coded — good, needs attention, or critical — and links to where you fix it. Cards show as unknown until their data source is connected (for example, Search performance needs Search Console).
There's also a nearby ranking scan — a geographic grid showing where you rank around your location, not just at your address — plus an AI search visibility section showing how AI search surfaces reference you versus competitors.
Google posts
A steady posting cadence keeps your Google profile active, which Google rewards. Aaptly drafts and schedules posts to your profile; you approve before anything publishes. The Freshness audit card tracks your cadence and nudges you when it's been too long.
Publishing posts requires a connected Google Business Profile. See Connect your Google Business Profile.
Citation sync
Citations are your business listings across directories — Apple, Bing, Yelp, Foursquare, and more. Consistent name, address, and phone (NAP) across them is a core local-ranking factor; inconsistent listings quietly hurt you.
The Listings tab shows how many directories list you and flags inconsistencies so Aaptly can keep your NAP aligned everywhere.
How it ties together
Your audit grades all of the above and surfaces the highest-impact fixes first. Work the top actions, keep a posting cadence, fix your citations, and earn reviews — the Growth Score climbs and you move up the map pack. The trend strip on your dashboard shows the movement over time.
