Search rankings & competition

Know which searches matter
and who ranks above you.

A single ranking for your business name tells you very little. Track the services customers search for, the pages they find, and the competitors appearing alongside you.

01

Keyword research

Find the searches that match your services and the places you work. Aaptly uses your website, business profile, search data, and local competitors to build a relevant set of keywords.

  • Service, category, city, and ‘near me’ searches
  • Local search demand where data is available
  • Keywords grouped by the service they relate to
  • Ongoing research to keep the tracked set relevant
02

Keyword rank tracking

Track where your website appears in organic Google results for each selected keyword. See the page that ranks, the date it was checked, and how the position compares with earlier checks.

  • Latest and previous positions for each keyword
  • Ranking history with dated checks
  • Location and desktop or mobile search settings
  • Improved, unchanged, declined, and unranked terms
03

Competitor tracking

See which businesses and websites rank above you for the searches you want to win. Aaptly records competitors in organic results and the local map pack, then compares their visible strengths with yours.

  • Competitor domains, ranking pages, and positions
  • Businesses appearing across your tracked Maps searches
  • How often competitors appear in the sampled results
  • Comparisons of profiles, reviews, and website checks

Google Maps & the local pack

Your ranking changes
from one street to the next.

You can appear near your business and rank differently a few neighborhoods away. Aaptly measures multiple locations for each tracked Maps search, so you can see that difference.

9 × 9
81 measured locations per search

In managed Maps reporting, within the defined sampling area.

More about Google Maps rankings

Map-pack coverage

See where your business appears in the top three local results and where it ranks further down. Each measured point is tied to a search term and a location.

Competitors at each location

Inspect the businesses returned at a specific point on the map. This shows who is competing with you in that part of the sampled area.

Comparable before-and-after reports

Compare saved checks using the same keyword, locations, and search settings. See where top-three coverage improved, stayed the same, or declined.

Scheduled measurements

Aaptly runs the managed checks and saves the results. Missing or failed checks stay distinct from a measured result where your business did not appear.

Website, profile & content

The SEO work
behind the rankings.

Research and tracking identify where to focus. We use those findings to plan the technical fixes, page improvements, profile updates, and content in your service.

01

Technical website audits

Read the sitemap and crawl the website to find pages that cannot be indexed, broken page responses, missing or duplicate headings, weak titles and descriptions, and problems with canonical links or structured data. Review mobile loading performance and prioritize the fixes.

Aaptly handles fixes on managed websites. Changes to an existing external site are agreed around its platform and available access.

  • Sitemaps & indexability
  • Page titles & headings
  • Structured data
  • Mobile performance
02

Service pages and local content

Turn keyword research into useful pages about the services you actually offer. Identify missing service and location pages, prepare page briefs and copy, answer relevant customer questions, and connect related pages with internal links.

Writing, publishing, and ongoing updates follow the website and content scope agreed for your business.

  • Service & location pages
  • Keyword-to-page planning
  • FAQs & articles
  • Internal links
03

Google Business Profile optimization

Review your primary and secondary categories, listed services, business description, opening hours, photos, and service areas. Prepare and apply supported updates through the connected profile so customers get accurate, useful information.

Google Business Profile management
  • Categories & services
  • Hours & contact details
  • Photos & descriptions
  • Service areas
04

Business listings and citations

Check available business-listing records against your confirmed business details and identify discrepancies for follow-up. Aaptly handles the technical work and coordinates corrections where the directory and account access support them.

Directory coverage and correction options vary. Connecting an account is not treated as proof that its public listing is accurate.

  • Business name
  • Address & service area
  • Phone & website
  • Recorded checks & follow-up
05

Reviews and Google posts

Monitor connected Google reviews, prepare replies for approval, and support review requests through the configured customer workflow. Plan and publish approved Google posts about your services, offers, and business news.

Reputation management
  • Review monitoring
  • Reply drafts & approvals
  • Review requests
  • Google posts
06

Google AI Overview visibility

Check whether a Google AI Overview appeared for the searches in your audit, whether it cited your website, and which competing domains it referenced. Review those citations alongside the organic and Maps results.

These checks report the evidence returned for the searches tested; they do not promise placement in an AI answer.

  • Searches checked
  • Website citations
  • Cited competitors
  • Available audit evidence
07

Search traffic and inquiry reporting

Use connected Google Search Console data to see which searches and pages generate impressions and clicks. Review website traffic and recorded inquiries where tracking is configured, alongside the keyword and Maps reports.

Reports identify their source and time period. Missing tracking or a missing baseline is shown plainly.

  • Search impressions & clicks
  • Queries & landing pages
  • Website inquiries
  • Dated work records

Questions

Local SEO details.

Which keywords will Aaptly track for my business?

We research keywords using your services, business profile, website, local market, and available search data. The tracked set can include service names, city searches, and ‘near me’ phrases. Keywords are grouped by service, and the agreed plan determines the tracking scope. Aaptly manages the research and ongoing checks.

Do you track both map-pack and organic rankings?

Yes. Maps reports show where your business profile appears at measured geographic points. Organic reports track your website’s position and ranking page for selected searches. They have separate histories because they measure different search results.

What does the 81-location Maps report cover?

Managed Maps reporting checks a 9 × 9 grid within the defined sampling area around the business. Each tracked Maps search is measured at those 81 locations. This is a geographic sample, not a claim to cover every location in your service area. Public audit previews use a smaller sample.

Can I see which competitors are ranking above me?

Yes. Aaptly records competing websites in organic results and businesses appearing in the sampled Maps results. Available comparisons include keyword positions, ranking pages, appearances across searches, business profiles, reviews, and website checks. This uses observed results and public information, not a competitor’s private analytics.

Can you improve the website I already have?

We can audit your existing website and identify technical, service-page, and content gaps. Publishing and implementation depend on the platform and access available and are agreed before work starts. Aaptly also offers complete website creation when you need a rebuild.

How does this work for several locations or service areas?

We agree which business locations, services, and geographic areas the work will cover. Research, profile work, pages, and reporting are scoped to those locations. Maps reports identify the exact area sampled so one location’s results are not presented as coverage for the whole business.

Do I need to run checks or fix technical issues?

No. Aaptly owns the research, scheduled checks, technical setup, and agreed SEO work. You provide accurate business information, grant access when your consent is needed, and review business decisions or content. Reports are optional to read; the service does not depend on you opening them.

Can you guarantee first-page or top-three rankings?

No. Google controls the results, and rankings depend on the search, location, competition, and other factors. We show dated measurements, the work completed, and both gains and declines. A ranking change alone does not establish which update caused it.
